Christ College was established in 1956. This college is a minority institution that is affiliated with Calicut University and re-accredited by NAAC with the highest grade "A." The college is a Christian institution with the motto "Jeevitha Prabha," which translates to "Light of Life." In 2015, the institution's Diamond Jubilee year, the University Grants Commission (UGC) granted the college "Autonomous status" on the advice of the state government.
